Saskatchewan Moose Hunting Licenses

To hunt in Saskatchewan, you first require your H.A.L. ID. This is your Hunting and Angling License. A H.A.L. ID is free, is good for life, and can be obtained online. To receive your H.A.L. ID visit the Saskatchewan Government Environment website.

Once you have obtained a H.A.L. ID, you can now purchase your hunting license online. Again, go to the Saskatchewan Government Environment website.

For big game hunting, such as Moose Hunting, make sure you purchase your license well in advance. When you purchase your licence online, it will be mailed to you in 5-10 business days and will include the big game seals or harvest ledger and a printed licence. Since the licence is not complete until the seals or harvest ledger is included, your licence cannot be printed and used immediately upon completing the transaction. If you are a non-resident of Saskatchewan (i.e. a U.S. hunter) we recommend you purchase your license at least one month in advance to allow for international mail delays.

You may also buy your moose hunting license in person at an authorized issuer. You can find them on the Issuers search.

Saskatchewan Moose Hunting License Costs

  • Saskatchewan Resident $40.00
  • Saskatchewan Resident Draw $65.00
  • Guided (Saskatchewan, Canadian and non-residents) $375.00

All non-resident big game hunters (white-tailed deer, moose and bear) and Canadian resident moose hunters must use the services of an outfitter and possess the applicable guided licence.
